Bola Tinubu’s Oriental Hotels Turn Robbers’ Den – Customers Lose Valuables At The Hotel

Seems the days when hotels served as home of luxury and relaxation is no longer in here. Gist is circulating around town about one of the most popular five-star hotels in Lagos, Oriental Hotels situated at Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos that has turned a haven where security can no longer be ascertained.

A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that the car of popular red-carpet diva disappeared at the Oriental Hotels, Lekki. She was said to have gone to cover events at the hotel but when she was done with the event about 11:15pm, her car was not at the particular spot she parked. She and some of the security agents of the hotel combed the premises all to no avail.

Gathered the hotel management did not bother to take her personal details or apologize or try to sort out the situation; instead they all backed out one after the other giving flimsy excuses. What is really generating controversy is that why a hotel of such standard would be found wanting in the area of security of their lives and property.

A car park, which has the company’s security men and police officers assigned to its different floors, should be one of the safest places, but its safety is nothing to vouch for at the moment. A source squealed that was not the first time such incident was happening, that his car disappeared from the spot he parked and up till this moment nothing has been done about it. Another source also hinted that another car robbery happened and the owner of the car just stood rooted to the spot and was so perplexed because no useful information was given about the car.

We also gathered that phones had disappeared at one time or the other in the premises. Also some personal belongings cannot be retraced till this moment. An unconfirmed source also said her shoes just disappeared from the hotel. The management of the hotel should look into the security level of the hotel.
