Fraudster-Turned Music Star Dbanj’s Many Atrocities – He fled UK over Credit Card Scam – Used another person’s identity to work as security at BBC London
The name Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’Banj means different things to different people; to some, he is that energetic and charismatic all round entertainer, while to others, he is nothing but another controversial artiste who would even go out of his way to create controversies in order to make himself popular. Whatever your view is about D’Banj, however, the fact remains that he is an entertainer and he has his own fair share of controversies.
So controversial is D’Banj’s life that he can easily be crowned Mr. Controversy. His controversies know no bounds; from his controversial relationship with JJC and the 419 Squad in United Kingdom to his controversial amorous relationship with star actress, Genevieve Nnaji, to his split from his former musical group where he happened to be the vice president – MoHits Records – to his alleged connection with the satanic group known as Illuminati which he is believed to have joined courtesy his new boss, Kanye West and many more.
His recent interview on ITV London has, however, generated another round of controversies as someone who claims he knows D’Banj very well has faulted his claims that he rose from a security guard to a megastar ‘legitimately’ through hard work. The integrity of D’Banj is being questioned here. According to this person, he said while seeking for the job of a security guard at British Broadcasting Corporation [BBC], D’Banj used his passport because he [D’Banj] was an illegal immigrant. He eventually got the job and used his passport which he gave to him based on the good relationship that existed between them to work all through the duration of his stay there.
He also said while living in a place called Woolwich in London, D’Banj worked hand in hand with a popular London-based scammer who goes by the name Jason, who is a professional in the art of hacking and cloning people’s account. Jason and D’Banj eventually became close friends and business partners.
D’Banj who at that time had no personal account had collected the Halifax account details of his landlord, one Mr. Ahmed and used the said account in conjunction with Jason to defraud a lot of people of millions of pounds. When Jason was not getting his cut of the deal from D’Banj, he had to go to the original owner of the account, Mr. Ahmed who obviously was not aware of the kind of job his account was used for. Pronto, he terminated the account.
When the bubble burst and the landlord was looking for him to come and explain what he had been using his account for and also to pay the outstanding debts he owed, our dear friend D’Banj who likes referring to himself as Koko Master had absconded. His destination? Your guess is as good as mine. Nigeria of course!
Observers, however, argue that one would have expected him, having made fame and fortune now, to have made peace with a lot of people he stepped on their toes on his journey up the ladder of success, D’Banj is said to have no time for all that as he even pretends not to recognize a lot of people that helped him when he was nobody.
All efforts to reach DBanj on his telephone line proved abortive as he refused to pick our call nor call back.
