The founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has expressed his disappointment in some spiritual leaders, calling on them to retrace their steps in order for them not to incur the wrath of God. Speaking recently, Ayodele said the spiritual leaders he is disappointed in include the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God {RCCG}, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the founder and presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners’ Chapel, Pastor David Oyedepo and the president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria {PFN}, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.
According to him, the disappointment is borne out of the present political situation in the country in which these spiritual leaders alongside others have dumped their divine spiritual calling for their own selfish interests.
He said because of the respect attached to their offices and individual callings, instead of them to lead the president of the country, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan aright by telling him the truth about the state of the nation anytime he visits them either in their churches or privately, they are fond of telling him the things that will please him and make him happy which in turn will be harmful to the growth, peace and unity of our dear country.
He further said that the challenges confronting the country today are obvious ones that even the blind, deaf and dumb can feel and Christians throughout the country and abroad would have expected these highly respected Christian spiritual leaders to be Christ-like by calling the attention of the president to the challenges but the reverse is the case. This has really affected a lot of their followers as they are not only disappointed, they are also frustrated. The only antidote he said is for them to retrace their steps before it is too late, turn back to God and tell the president the gospel truth as we approach the General Elections slated for 28th March and 11th April 2015.
Speaking further on the election, the man noted for his accurate predictions said the incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan would win another term of four years if he does not in anyway tamper with the electoral process or remove the “embattled” chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Atahiru Jega.
Recall it has been rumoured that Jega will be relieved of his job by the Presidency any moment from now. Plans are said to be allegedly going on for Jega to be asked to go on compulsory three months’ terminal leave starting from Sunday, March 1, 2015 and will summarily be replaced by Professor Femi Mimiko who is the brother of the governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko. The calculation is that elections would have been concluded before Jega returns. It is also of note that Jega’s term as INEC chairman expires legally in June 2015 but President Jonathan in his media chat recently said there was no plan to remove Jega or send him on retirement leave.
