REVEALED : HOW GREEDY OSINBAJO BECAME VP AGAINST ADEBOYE’S WISH.
In what many would see as a complete let down and a sheer act of greed, the utter desperation shown by Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the run up to the 2015 elections and power-sharing in the top echelon of the black most populous country on earth has now emerged and we can authoritatively inform our esteemed readers of how Mr. Vice President callously accepted the country’s number two job against the orders of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E. A Adeboye.
Fresh facts have now emerged about the daring and audacious journey of ebullient and charismatic Pastor Yemi Osinbajo who is not only one of the frontline Pastors in the fold of the RCCG but an apple of Pastor Adeboye’s eyes before his foray into the murky waters of Nigerian party politics, nay the corridors of power in the country that readily guarantees a stupendous affluence.
Osinbajo’s journey to the country’s seat of power began in 2015 shortly after the Supremo of All Progressives Congress (APC) nominated him for the post and introduced him to President Muhammad Buhari. Osinbajo who, as an ordained Pastor in RCCG and a close “son” of Adeboye would not do anything without informing his spiritual father had to run and meet with Daddy G.O to intimate him with the “good news”.But to his utter surprise ,the man of God told him how his new- found love is not in tandem with his faith and how this will prove to be his undoing.
Sources also revealed how Osinbajo who was the Pastor in charge of the RCCG Olive Parish in posh Banana Island viewed the stance of Adeboye with disdain and started making frantic efforts to make Adeboye change his mind on the issue. Osinbajo was said to have immediately approached some top Pastors and close associates of Baba Adeboye so they could talk to the revered man of God to have a rethink on the issue. However, Adeboye who is known to be highly principled and who does not mince words especially when it comes to God or Church’s matters told everyone who cared to listen that “the Lord has spoken” on the matter.
But unknown to Pastor Adeboye, his smart and street-wise “son” who was the Pastor in charge of the Lagos Province 48, Olive Tree Provincial headquarter parish Ikoyi before being tapped into politics would not have it as the perks of office that comes with being the number two citizen in a country like Nigeria is too juicy to ignore, more so when it’s coming through a strong power broker like Asiwaju Tinubu.
And according to our sources, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo called the bluff of Pastor Adeboye by joining the APC train against the instruction and advice of his spiritual father and mentor. He was also said to have avoided the latter in the run up to his public presentation by Gen Buhari. And against the wish of the church and the various pleas of Adeboye, Buhari announced Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate and vice-presidential candidate for the 2015 general elections on the 17th of December 2014.
Global News also learnt Adeboye has since adopted the “Siddon look” theory of the late Cicero of Esa-Oke, Chief Bola Ige on the issue even though he’s still not very happy about it ; especially with the way “APC’s Change” mantra is yet to positively affect the lives of average Nigerians.
While it is on record that Osinbajo famously said he “is still the pastor-in-charge of the Olive Parish of RCCG,and my wife remains wife of the pastor-in-charge”and he is only on loan to the Federal Government, one can safely conclude that Osinbajo has indeed become a typical Nigerian politician who knows how to use the power of words to diffuse any tense situation.
To buttress this claims that Adeboye never supported his nomination to be the vice-president of Buhari, a development that may put to rest the seeming controversy over who nominated Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo as President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate during the electioneering campaign, the number two citizen, recently said he was nominated by a National Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Vice President, who spoke at a State of the Nation Address convened by Coalition of Nigerian Apostolic Leaders in Lagos, said: “An APC National Leader who had served when he was governor was interested in putting me forward as the running mate of President Muhammadu Buhari in consensus with other national leaders of the party. “I was a product of this system (Coalition Leaders). The church was reluctant and I understood why the church was reluctant. The church was looking at the head of the ticket (President). This is our first opportunity. This is our first shot at it. We need to maximize it and do the best we can. I think what my nomination and appointment have done is that it has open the door for us. We can do it and we can be influential in doing it.”
