Wonders they say shall never end, and when something unimaginable happens between two high profile individuals who occupy leadership positions, one wonders what their subjects would comport themselves in the public.Again two prominent traditional rulers in Yorubaland are again in the news for the wrong reasons and it’s so disheartening.

The number one royal stool of the Yorubas and the source of all Oduduwa sons and daughters have just being insulted in broad day light and by no other than the number Monarch in Lagos, the Oba of Lagos,His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu II.And as you read this,we hear the two monarchs are not ready to sheath their swords.

Global News sources have reliably informed your ever-reliable tabloid that the Arole Oodua and de facto Paramount ruler of Yoruba Kingdom and all Yorubas in Nigeria and in the diaspora, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II is yet to make up his mind on how to deal with the way Oba of Lagos, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rilwan Akiolu recently disgraced him at a recent function in Lagos that had both monarchs in attendance.

Although we hear Ooni Ogunwusi who is known to be a peacemaker and bridge-builder is still very angry about the unfortunate incident, he is said to be exploring ways of registering his displeasure. Global News also gathered that Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi is also making wide consultations on how to reply the seemingly rude Oba Akiolu whose snobbish attitude at the said function is just too much for some of the custodians of Yoruba to bear.

According to the footage of the incident which sadly is now in public domain via social media,Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi was obviously trying to acknowledge the presence of Oba Akiolu but the latter just turned a blind eye and pretended not to see Ooni Ogunwusi. Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi just took the insult in his stride, went past Oba Akiolu and made for his seat. The maturity displayed by the Ooni have left a deep feelings in the mind of yorubas, especialy those with the know of the history between Ile-Ife and Lagos.

Meanwhile, Oba Akiolu who is already building a no-nonsense (persona) reputation for himself since he became the Oba of Lagos is now being seen by many in the Oodua States as being unnecessarily envious of the ever growing influence of the young but unassuming Ooni of Ife both at home in Nigeria and abroad. Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has come to stay and he remain the Ooni. The young Onirisha is bringing various development within his domain and beyond, he is closing the gap of rancour and old feud between culture and tradition. But the latest happening wont be the last of the unfortunate incident, but we promise to keep you posted. Already, some various traditional groups have been calling on the Oba of Lagos to apologise to the Ooni, but stay close to Global News, we promise to keep you abreast, because we are in the know that Ile-Ife will request answers or questions, depending on the position it will take on the matter.

However, call it whatever you like, Oba of Lagos would not be drawn into this kind of argument as to why Lagos Kingship stool is superior to that of the source of all Yorubas as Oba Akiolu’s arrogance can not be seen from behind the designers’ sunglasses that usually adorn his eyes. But as you read this, the spat continues to generate hues and cries in all the Yoruba States and has also sent the social media into an overdrive.
