More trouble for killer wife mother, Maryam Sanda
This is definitely a difficult time for Maimuna Aliyu, the mother of Maryam Sanda, who recently killed her husband in Abuja. While still struggling to cope with the harsh reality of her daughter’s predicament, Maimuna is currently in another hot soup as she has case to answer with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC).Maimuna’s daughter, Maryam, was recently remanded at Suleja prisons for allegedly killing her husband –Bilyamin Bello, son of Alhaji Bello Halliru Muhammadu, a former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Maimuna, a former Executive Director of Aso Savings and Loans Limited, is set to be arraigned by the ICPC for offences the commission claimed ranges from fraud to false statements. She would be arraigned at the same division of the FCT High Court in Jabi where her daughter, Maryam was docked.
A statement from the spokesperson of the Commission, Rasheedat Okoduwa said: “the arraignment is set to take place on Tuesday 28th November 2017 before Justice M. A. Nasir of High Court 16, Jabi, Abuja.
“Mrs Aliyu allegedly sold off three plots of land 2432; 2433; and 2434 in Cadastral Zone B08, Jabi District, Abuja, on behalf of Aso Savings and Loans Ltd at the cost of N57m without remitting same to the bank.
“She is also believed to have made false statement to officials of ICPC all contrary to Sections 19 and 25(1) (a) & (b) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000; and Section 311 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532, Laws of Northern Nigeria 1990,” the ICPC said.
Meanwhile, an Abuja source squealed to this magazine that Maimuna is in for more trouble because she had stepped on many toes and the alleged murder of Bilyamin Bello was the height of it.
“Even if she gets out of this ICPC case, I can tell you that other cases would be waiting for her, except something drastic is done to appease the powerful people she and her daughter have offended,” our source hinted.
