Why Ladi Adebutu Teamed Up Against OGD
The once upon a time rosy relationship between two political gladiators in Ogun State; Ladi Adebutu, a lawmaker representing Ogun East in the House of Representatives, and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former Governor of the state, has suddenly went sour.The frosty relationship between Ladi and OGD, as Daniel is fondly called, has subsequently spread like wild fire among their supporters, a development many political analysts predicts to heat up the polity.
One of Ladi’s grievances is that he actually ditched Buruji Kashamu to pitch his tent with OGD, while the former Governor and Ladi’s brother, Kensington Adebutu had a mutual agreement that the former will his political structure across the state to Ladi to fly his gubernatorial ambition.
Ladi had been enjoying this relationship with OGD, as 100 percent of his followers became the latter’s loyalists, including Sikirullahi Ogundele, who has been dubbed a diehard OGD fan.
However, problems started when Ladi expected OGD to pronounce him as the main gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as earlier agreed, but he was aggrieved as Yayi suddenly became the close choice of the former Governor.
Meanwhile, Governor Ibikunle Amosun has swore to high heavens that he will not handover to a ‘foreigner’, referring to Yayi, and anybody touted as Yayi’s supporter had automatically been in the Governor’s blackbook.
