Ogun 2019: Why Osoba and His Group Betrayed Yayi
The hopes of Senator Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi of becoming the governor of Ogun State in 2019 seems to be fading, no thanks to Olusegun Osoba and his group who betrayed him for their selfish reasons.
An impeccable chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC told this magazine that unless miracle happens, Yayi, who have already spent several millions of naira on his gubernatorial ambition, will no longer contest to be governor in Ogun State.
Osoba used to be one of the great pillars behind Yayi’s ambition, but the relationship suddenly fell like a pack of cards when the former governor and his group decided to reconcile with Governor Ibikunle Amosun, a man who has sworn to high heavens that Yayi will not become a governor under his watch.
Meanwhile, Osoba and his group only decided to make peace with Amosun because it is the only way his son, Olumide Osoba can get the party ticket to contest for the House of Representatives. There is no doubt that Amosun holds all the party tickets for now.
The only option for Yayi to give Amosun a run for his money is to cross to another party to contest, but he has been sternly warned by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu not to dump the party come what may.
There have been several efforts by Amosun to become the godfather of Ogun politics, and those close to him squealed that he has severally boasted that his G.R.A mansion is a replacement to Tinubu’s Bourdillon resident where key political decisions are made.
