BREAKING: Onnoghen found guilty, barred from holding public office for 10 years
Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has found the former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, guilty of false declaration of assets.
The former CJN has also been barred from holding public office for 10 years.
The three-man panel led by Danladi Umar ruled on Thursday that Onnoghen breached the provision of CCT Act section 36; and that the defendant falsely declared his asset by hiding five accounts listed in the charge.
The CCT also sacked Onnoghen, who had earlier resigned his position as CJN, and directed that he is to forfeit the money in the said accounts.
