Where is Obiora Agbasimalo
This is the question on the lips and mind of friends, family and the concerned public about the whereabout of Obiora Agbasimalo.Obiora Agbasimalo was the Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate in the recently concluded Nov 6 Anambra State Election. He was kidnapped on September 18, 2021, in Anambra State around Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State while on his way for an election campaign and has not been heard from since then. At the moment, no one knows whether he is alive or dead.
He was a former banker with Zenith Bank in Lagos but resigned after being approached to contest for the election by an extended family member who later became his political sponsor; Godwin Chieloka Agbasimalo (Oga Ndi Oga), the founder of Oga Ndi Oga Charity Foundation.Several Civil Society Organizations (CSO) such as the Centre for Freedom and Social Justice have been calling on the Nigerian Police and other important security agencies to make sure he is rescued.
The Labour party Chairman also made a plea on National TV (AIT) to his abductors for him to be released, and also organized a rally in Awka Anambra State to this effect.It is a shame that the security situation in Nigeria has continued to geometrically decline, and people no longer have the freedom of movement or association.
