Gunmen Murder Another Man in Anambra, Four Days After He Was Abducted
Another man has been slain by gunmen in the Nkwelle-Ezunaka community of Anambra State’s Oyi Local Government Area.
The event occurred in the early hours of Monday at a busy intersection in the neighborhood.
A resident of the region, Arinze Ajaezu, told GLOBAL NEWS what transpired.
He claimed that after killing the deceased, the gunmen stormed the location via Nkwelle Road and then fled via Onitsha Road, a different route.
“We have no idea who this guy is.” “However, some (people) believe he could be a security agent,” he stated.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the state’s police spokesperson, verified the event in a statement.
Ikechukwu Udeozor was the victim, he said.
According to Mr Ikenga, the victim was kidnapped from his home on Thursday and killed four days later.
“Police officers discovered a lifeless body on the roadside near Y- Junction, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, today at about 10:20 a.m. “Ikechukwu Udeozor was later identified as the victim,” Mr Ikenga said.
The police were investigating the event, according to the spokeswoman, and the killers will be apprehended.
