The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged presidential candidates in the next elections to make their holdings and liabilities public as soon as possible. Mr Segun Oni, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, bemoaned the spate of attacks on his supporters in the days leading up to the June 18 election, saying thugs are gradually taking over the political space and attacking perceived opponents. Oni claimed that in the recent few days, many of his followers had been macheted or assaulted by political thugs, claiming that this was proof of the prior warning that thugs had been imported to the state for the upcoming governorship election.
