PDP HOUSE OF HORROR …WHY ALI-MODU SHERRIF IS FIGHTING DIRTY

It’s no longer news that the much publicized People’s Democratic Party convention in Port-Harcourt didn’t hold as expected but a mush room convention took place inside the state government house where tenure of Ahmed Makarfi led caretaker committee was extended for another one year.

The choice of Senator AliModu Sheriff as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman came at a time the party was on the brink of collapse. The party was at its lowest ebb, it was so frustrating for most of its members that one can readily read in between the lines.

It all started after former President Goodluck Jonathan lost his election to President Muhammadu Buhari, his concede to the defeat came as a sucker punch on members of the party that were of the view that Jonathan was “too hasty” in conceding defeat.
They had preferred to slug it out on the floors of the election tribunals with the hope that it may end-up at the mercy of the Supreme Court that will decide.
Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s emergence was so sudden despite other candidates that have earlier indicated their interests for the party’s national chairmanship position.
Senator Ali Sheriff whom was elected as Chairman of the party was not to be without the rancour and disgruntled members of the party showing their obvious disdain for the rationale behind his emergence.
This culminated into several court cases that in the long run stopped the election of certain offices of the national working committee and series of faulted states congresses that fell short the expectations of the party members.
But the question many people are asking is why Modu Sheriff is fighting tooth and nail to forcefully imposed himself as the party chairman when it’s not his family title. Gathered that Ali-Modu see his position as the party chairman as an opportunity that will help to actualize his long time dream of becoming the president of Nigeria.

Those who are in the know claimed that immediately he became the chairman with tenure that will last only for three months, he quickly put the machinery in motion to become the president since the party is said to have zone the presidency slot to the north. It was this action that miffed other party members who supported him initially to act fast and check mate him before it’s too late.
