Politicians Move to Scheme Controversial Pastor, Tunde Bakare Out of ACN And CPC Merger

He had over time attracted many enemies to himself even in the Christian environment, so Pastor Tunde Bakare who once liken himself to Biblical Micah, is not new to opposition and will not turn away from a confrontational issue. His radical views of those in government make sure he is also not lacking opposition in that sphere of life and his utterances are not helping him in that regard.

In the last presidential elections in the country, he was the running mate of the former Nigeria head of state General Muhamadu Buhari under his Congress of Political Change (CPC); recently there has been news of merger plan between the CPC, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and other political parties in the country in preparation for the 2015 elections against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).  It was revealed to Global News that while this merger arrangement is going on there is another plan to scheme out the head of Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare, from the arrangement.

Though the whole plan is still at the foundation level, many in the two major parties who will be forming the backbone of the merger would want another personality but not the radical pastor who sees nothing bad in condemning people, even from his own camp; and this we learnt is of concern to the politicians who will be forming the alliance and that is the reason the fiery preacher is the first thing to be dealt with before the merger can be given any serious thought.

The plan which we learnt has been perfected by the caucus but has not yet been pushed to the general’s house is to force the Abeokuta-born pastor to remain completely in the background where his utterances will not cause prospective electorates to have negative perception about the new allies. Pastor Tunde Bakare, it would be recalled, had at a time tongue-lashed the national leader of the ACN, Bola Tinubu, over what he called his undemocratic characters, while Tinubu not too long ago confirmed he was not about changing his way for nobody, stating that it had worked this far.

Whatever happens, it is sure that there will be another round of crisis in the coming days, because the leader of the SNG and ACN are known for always sticking to their decisions, and only time will tell who will shift ground for who as time goes on.
