JUMIA PARTNERS WITH AUREY PACK IN FIGHT AGAINST MATERNAL AND INFANT MORTALITY
In its quest to help lower the prevailing high rate of maternal and infant mortality in the country ,Jumia is partnering with one of the leading NGOs in the country – The Audrey Pack.
The initiative which is line with the World Health Organization’s sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) is designed to raise the standard of healthcare delivery for women and their families worldwide will see Jumia support the nation’s maternal and child health and help lower the high mortality rate which according to UNICEF is the second largest contributor to the maternal mortality rate and deaths of the under 5s in the world.
Jumia will use the partnership to support the AUDREY PARK in her fight against maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria. It will ensure that aside from providing pregnant and new mothers with the relevant health information, mothers will also receive a quick and easy way to access affordable nutrition and personal child care items.
The Audrey park distributes millions of free pre-natal materials to mothers across Nigeria as well as ante-natal materials to various healthcare professionals in the country. Pregnant women and new mothers are encouraged to register with hospitals to in order to receive materials for antenatal care and immunization.
Jumia will also be kick off the partnership with the first ever “JUMIA BABY WEEK”. The online Jumia Baby Week will run from May 2nd -5th 2017 and parents all over Nigeria can shop and pay the best prices on all the things babies from global brands like Pampers, Huggies,Molfix ,Johnson ,Aptamil and many more.
Jumia is also launching the “Breast Feeding Room” on the Audrey pack Premises where mothers who have registered with Audrey pack will have free access to the feeding room facilities on the go.
The CEO of The Audrey Pack, Lillian Odim stated that the NGO would like to see a positive change in the statistics of the maternal and child mortality in Nigeria in the next two years. Speaking further, Odim said “I Want to be part of change”.In the same vein, the CEO of Jumia Nigeria Juliet Anammah said Jumia is proud of the Audrey park, “we stand with the implementations of the sustainable Developmental Goals in Nigeria we are committed to playing our part”.
