The Many Lies of Emperor Ibikunle Amosun

‘Gbogbo lama se’ is currently a common slogan among the people of Ogun State. The parlance, which means ‘we will do everything’, is usually on the lips of the people whenever they see the governor or his aides. This is because the governor has said many things and at the same time promised the people many things that are not realistic.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mrs Adenrele Adesina recently announced that the 5.7 billion naira Paris club given to the state government will be used to pay six month deduction from co-operative and pensions.
Adenrele disclosed that the government will use 75% of the money which is 4.5 billion naira to pay the six month deduction, but the opposite is the case.

According to our findings, Ogun State government succeeded in paying four months to some co-operative societies while some got three months against the six months earlier announced. Many people who are conversant with the programmes of Governor Amosun will remember this.
Two years ago, the governor told the people of Ogun State about a rail project at a forum in Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta that the state will embark on rail project which has not seen the light of the day as at time of filing the report.

Also, the people of Ogun State are still wondering till this moment that Model Colleges, which the government promised will take-off two years ago, have not reached the final completion.

Some of those model colleges are located at extreme end of the town in which if care is not taken, will become hideouts for criminals.

Some of the roads the governor promised to do are still in the same condition. Atan-Agbara road, Ado-odo, Ikoga road, Arepo and its axis, and Warewa road and its axis are all in same deplorable condition as you read this story. The governor have on several occasion promise the people of ogun states many development but many are suffering the effect of the bad road to there standard of living, security challenges, cars, health and ofcourse physical effects of the roads filled with pot-holes, the six-lane road within Ilaro metropolis, and Randa in Abeokuta are in deplorable conditions and the government is paying no attention.

This is why the 350 million dollars loan the governor is planning to get generated serious controversy on radio stations and newspapers because nobody knows what the governor will use the money for?

Mrs Aderele Adesina, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, and her counterparts in the education sector told the people that the money will be used to boost government’s transformation programmes in agriculture, education and industrial sector among others.

Even with all what the government said the money is meant for, the people still believe that the money will be channeled for political activities in 2019.
