Mortuary Attendants Narrowly Escape Lynching Over Dead Man’s Missing Testicle in Abia

A disturbing incident occurred at a mortuary in Abia State, Nigeria, when three mortuary attendants were almost lynched by an angry mob after a dead man’s testicle was discovered missing. The mortuary, located along the Aba-Ikot Ekpene highway, was subsequently set ablaze by irate youths.
According to eyewitnesses, the family of the deceased had gone to retrieve the body for burial when one of the daughters requested that the corpse be undressed for inspection. Upon examination, it was discovered that one of the testicles was missing, sparking outrage among the youths who had accompanied the family to the mortuary.
The attendants attempted to flee but were caught by the mob, leading to a violent confrontation. Police officers from the Eastern Ngwa Division later arrived at the scene, arresting some of the attendants and restoring order.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many expressing shock and disgust at the alleged desecration of the deceased. The Abia State Police Command has been contacted for comment, but no official statement has been released yet.
